MY CRIME NOVEL IS NOW OUT

OMAND’S CREEK

JUMPING TO CONCLUSIONS CAN GET SOMEONE KILLED

A young woman has been brutally murdered, her body left on the banks of Omand’s Creek. Similarities with a murder a month earlier lead Detective Michael Shelter to believe he’s dealing with a killer preying on sex workers in the city’s Indigenous community. He soon realizes he’s facing a far more cunning adversary than he’d imagined.

“Omand’s Creek is the best Canadian crime debut in recent memory.” – Montreal Gazette

About Don Macdonald

I am a journalist who was born and raised in Winnipeg. I now live in Montreal with my family where I worked for many years as a political and business reporter and columnist. I have remained close to my Winnipeg roots, returning each year to visit family and friends.

Omand’s Creek is my first novel.

Praise for Omand’s Creek

“”Macdonald has achieved something that will resonate wherever it is read. Omand’s Creek is the best Canadian crime debut in recent memory.”

“Macdonald expertly crafts a gripping mystery in which each clue and false lead builds to a devastating final set of revelations.”

“A taut, dark mystery. Even world-weary detective Michael Shelter is surprised by the depravity and corruption he uncovers investigating a case that will keep readers riveted and guessing, right to the end.”

“Omand’s Creek propels us into the dark underbelly of the city and resonates with the anguish and unfulfilled desires of those who walk its streets.”
